Rocks and Minerals Project Due: March 6, 2015

Every day we see rocks and minerals that look quite ordinary. We don’t pay much attention to them. They are part of our world that we take for granted. But there are also some amazing rock formations. No matter how many times we see them, we notice them!

What To Do...

Project can be presented on Bristol Board or printed on 8.5 X 11 paper

Please include the following in your Rock Adventure Brochure:
  1. Title or Title page; include your name and date.
  2. The name and 2 pictures of the rock formation (or mineral), list 5 basic facts about the rock or mineral.
  3. Where is it found? Describe the location of the rock formation that you would like to visit. Or maybe you have already visited and have seen it while on holidays?  
  4. What makes it special?
  5. Make up 5 more questions that you have about your rock or mineral, and include 3 to 5 sentence answers for each of your questions.
Not included in the Brochure:
Students please present to the class on the date that you have chosen for your presentation (all projects to be completed by Friday, March 6, 2015)

Grand Total of 40 points

Level 1 = DEVELOPING, INFORMATION IS MISSING

Level 3 = PROFICIENT, CORRECT USE OF INFORMATION

Level 4 = EXCELLENT, ACCOMPLISHED
