2 More Parent volunteers needed for Scientist in the School Program - Thurs April 6

Hi Everyone!  We have a "Gears and Pulleys"  Scientist in the School Program in our classroom on the afternoon of Thurs April 6th.  We need 2 more parent volunteers...so far we have one.  Please let me know if you are available and would like to join us from 12:30- 3 pm. Cinnamon Jumbles Recipe

Cinnamon Jumbles Cookie

Ingredients:

4 cups sifted all-purpose flour

• 1 teaspoon baking soda
  
• 1 teaspoon salt
  
• 1 cup butter
  
• 2 cups white sugar 

• 
  
• 2 eggs 
• 
  
• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 
• 
  
• 1 1/2 cups buttermilk 
• 
  
• 1/2 cup white sugar 
• 
  
• 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

    Directions:  

• Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt; set aside. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Beat in the eggs, one at time. Next, stir in the vanilla and buttermilk alternately with the sifted ingredients. Cover dough and chill overnight.
• Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Generously grease cookie sheets.
• Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets, about 2 inches apart. Combine the cinnamon and sugar, sprinkle some of the mixture onto each cookie.
• Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden brown. Remove from baking sheets to cool on wire racks.

French Grammar test - Wed Mar 21, 2017

Fyi - there will be no Dictee posted this week.  Students instead will work on Grammar and review verbs -er, -re and -ir

Fractions/Decimals Test - Monday March 27th

Fyi - please make sure that Fractions 1 to Fractions 5; Fractions-Decimals 1 and 2 ; Fractions 5-1 through 5-5; and Fractions 6-1 through 6-4 are all completed.  Review worksheets will come out the week before the test and students can also do the practice at the end of Chapter 8 in both the Gr 4 and Gr 5 textbook.
